cm5 presents Emily Hay at Timucua white house, September 4th

Sunday, September 4th
Emily Hay with Brad Dutz and Wayne Peet @ the Timucua white house
2000 S. Summerlin St., Orlando
7:30 pm, free admission
This concert is the kick-off event for the Accidental Music Festival

We at the cm5 first heard Emily Hay in the late 1980s as a member of the Motor Totemist Guild, who were dead set on performing a notably singular take on classical chamber/prog rock- notably minus the shop-worn blazing rock rhythm section underpinnings.  Hay’s flute, piccolo and voice can be subsequently heard blurring the lines between modern classical and improvisation in MTG-related groups the 5UUs and U-Totem, and in large scale West Coast creative jazz-ish motherships such as Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra and Vinny Golia’s Large Ensemble.

For the Timucua white house concert, Emily Hay brings along an esteemed duo of supporting musicians in Wayne Peet and Brad Dutz. Pianist/keyboardist Wayne Peet is a veteran composer for television/film, arranger (Brian Setzer, yo!), in addition to performing in the West Coast jazz ensembles such as those of the brothers Cline- Nels and Alex, and Vinny Golia. Percussionist Brad Dutz is fellow traveler with Hay in her own recordings, Motor Totemist Guild and Adam Rudolph’s Go: Organic Orchestra. Additionally he has a huge studio credit list that includes the likes Willie Nelson, Rickie Lee Jones, Lee Ann Rimes and Leo Kottke.
